13. Can I join the UUCP network ? If you are only interested in getting e-mail and news, XS4ALL offers you a UUCP-only account. We have a one-time charge to set-up your node. With a UUCP-node you will become part of the XS4ALL network. You can choose a subdomain name yourself. You can pick up your e-mail and access the newsgroups you are interested in with a modem session through our dial-in numbers. We offer all newsgroups with a continuous feed. Also it may be possible to connect with the network via an XS4ALL-UUCP host in your local phone area. Every XS4ALL-node is allowed to connect a subdomain and pass mail and news to other systems. However subnodes are charged by XS4ALL with the monthly fee too. Up to 5 users (including aliases) are allowed to use the same UUCP connection locally with no extra costs. There is an additional fee for more users on one node —like on a BBS— depending on how many users are sharing this node.
